Creative Miniature Associates (CMA) kit of the incredibly detailed 1/12 Ferrari 312 F1 1970. Originally these were intended to be part of the built run but delays and complications in production ended the run early. However, the remaining 15 kits were boxed and are now being offered for sale. This is a very rare opportunity to acquire a very rare and truly super-detailed model car.

The 312B was a very successful Grand Prix car for Ferrari and was also the only "flat 12" powered car that season developing more power than any other engine in 1970 Formula 1 racing. It was visually one of the more exciting F-1 racers of the early 1970's and was regarded by many as the best looking F-1 car of 1970. For 1970 Ferrari garnered four wins and five 2nd place finishes with the 312B which even came back to win the first and 3rd races of the 1971 season as the B2 was not ready for those first few races. Over 5 years have been spent on the research and fabrication of the original master pattern for this extremely limited edition of ONLY 25 hand built models. This is the second model in the CMA Racing series following the much acclaimed 1:14th scale Ferrari 166MM Barchetta. Each model is made up of almost 400 metal and polyurethane resin components. (Although this hand built model is no longer available the below description is how they were presented.) Each 312B miniature is expertly finished featuring numerous details from the intricate dash board and exposed wiring behind the dash to the wired and detailed engine. Countless hours were spent adding the rivet detail to the master body pattern. Each model has 53 individually machined aluminum parts, 20 cast bronze suspension and engine components, and another 36 aluminum, steel, brass and pewter parts to complete the accurate suspension detailing! The bronze parts alone are stunning as they are carefully cleaned and polished by hand, then the Rhondium plated and polished again. There are numerous other detail parts that are also machined and over 40 more are photo etched. Each 312B even has specially formed domed steel mesh screens over the top of each of the 12 velocity stacks, and miniature springs holding the exhaust pipes in place. Gold colored Firestone lettering and rings are added by hand to each tire on both sides. Even the red and black seat fabric pattern has been recreated. Look into the rear view mirrors and you will see your reflection! Everywhere you look you will see little details and touches that strive to make this extremely limited edition as historically accurate as possible. Of course these models are finished off by having a gleaming hand rubbed paint finish. Each model comes mounted in a special wood and acrylic display case and as a very special added bonus each model comes with 2 plaques personally autographed by Jacky Ickx specifically for these models. One plaque is mounted to the underside of the model and the other to the display base. Certificate of authenticity is also included.
